Starter

Estimate. About 46 s of ffmpeg per minute of video for this job type. It costs only past 3 s for each second of output. Measured on Videxo on Nov 4, 2026 with a 1080p 60 fps clip, libx264 preset medium, crf 23. JSON operations run a faster preset by default, so this time and the estimate may be high. Your command, its settings and the source decide the real time; a job's usage shows what it took.

- Video multipliers
- H.265 or VP9 x2. AV1 x4. Above 30 fps x2. They multiply: AV1 at 60 fps is x8.
- Data
- 10 credits a GB of inputs as fetched plus outputs as stored, in decimal GB (10^9 bytes).
- Processing
- Each billed second of output, and each image, includes 3 seconds of ffmpeg. Time past that costs 10 credits a minute, and the job's usage shows it.
- Rounding
- A job's parts are summed and rounded up to 0.1 credit. A job above 0 pays at least 1 credit, so a probe alone costs 1 credit, or its data when that is more.
- Example
- A minute of 1080p H.264 at 30 fps, with 150 MB in and out: 12 + 1.5 = 13.5 credits, $0.0135.
The base rate is the $10 pack's, where 1 credit is $0.001. Scene lists cost x3 above 1080p and x2 above 30 fps; that rate is provisional.

Can I pay today?
Not yet. Payments are not connected, so credit packs and paid plans cannot be bought. The 500 free credits work today, with no card.
What does a failed job cost?
A job that fails after ffmpeg ran stores no outputs, so it pays no output minutes: its data, and all its processing at 10 credits a minute. A job that fails before ffmpeg starts pays the data it fetched. A failure on our side pays nothing.
What happens at the cap?
Pay as you go: once the credits are used, new jobs are refused with out_of_credits until the account holds credits again. A job that runs out while it runs stops with the same code and pays at most what it held.
Paid plans: credits past the included ones are billed per 1,000, up to the plan's overage cap. Starter includes 25,000 credits and bills $0.85 per 1,000 after that, up to $50: 58,823 more credits, 83,823 in all. At the cap, new jobs are refused until the next period. You never pay more than the plan's price plus its cap.
How is a period counted?
Pay as you go has no included credits; its usage is shown by calendar month in UTC.
Paid plans: the subscription's monthly period. A job's credits belong to the period in which it was admitted, even when it ends in the next one.
How exact is the calculator?
The credits come from the same function that prices a real job, and the plan limits from the same table. The length and the sizes are yours or the job type's. The ffmpeg time is an estimate for the job type, and it only costs past the time included in the output; every job's usage shows what it took.
Can I cancel?
Nothing can be bought yet, so there is nothing to cancel. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions through Dodo Payments. Cancel with Manage billing on the Usage and billing page; once Dodo ends the subscription, the account is back on Pay as you go with the credits it still holds.
Pay as you go needs no card and no subscription. Your personal organization gets 500 free credits once, valid 30 days.
